Method
How the Claude watermark checker works
The workflow separates inspection, deterministic cleaning and statistical rewriting so each claim has the right evidence behind it.

Paste text, submit a public URL or upload a UTF-8 HTML file. HTML is treated as inert data and sanitised before inspection.
Review the two-sentence finding
The tool reports supported Unicode and metadata evidence without pretending it has access to Anthropic's private detector.
Choose rewrite strength
Light preserves more phrasing. Balanced is the default. Strong creates greater lexical change with a higher editorial review requirement.

Can this tool detect Claude's official text watermark?+
It can detect supported hidden Unicode and HTML metadata, but Anthropic has not published the detector for its model-level statistical mark. The tool therefore reports evidence grades instead of an unsupported yes or no claim.
Does no marker found mean the text is human-written?+
No. A clean deterministic scan does not prove human authorship, rule out older model output or show whether a statistical signal survived editing.
How does the remover handle statistical watermarks?+
Schmitdy varies sentence and token choices while preserving facts, links and semantic structure. This is best-effort reduction, not certified removal.
Will uploaded HTML execute on Schmitdy?+
No. HTML is decoded as text, parsed without scripting, restricted to an allowlist and sanitised again after transformation. Scripts, event handlers, forms, iframes, objects, external resources and unsafe URL schemes are discarded.
Is my pasted copy or HTML stored?+
No. Source and transformed content are processed transiently and are not stored in lead records, analytics or application logs. Schmitdy stores only the lead details and operational metrics needed to run the tool safely.
What happens to headings, lists, tables and links?+
The tool preserves safe semantic HTML and validates that every link target survives the rewrite. You can export HTML, Markdown or plain text after reviewing the result.
Can I use this for academic work or someone else's content?+
Use it only for content you own or are authorised to process. It is not designed to misrepresent authorship, evade academic rules or remove lawful disclosure from third-party work.
Why does the tool offer three rewrite strengths?+
Stronger rewriting changes more token choices but increases the chance that tone or nuance needs editorial review. Balanced is the default for professional website copy.
